Low-Key Birthday Celebrations
I remember that as a kid, my birthday was one of the highlights of the year. Makes sense, right? When you're young, you haven't had that many birthdays yet, which automatically makes them much more special.
I'm not exactly a party animal and never have been. All the organization and forced socializing feels more like a chore than a celebration. During the day, I sometimes even forget it's my birthday until friends and family remind me with their (digital) birthday wishes. But you know what? That's totally fine by me. No pressure, no stress, just another day in the life.
Instead of a big birthday party, I prefer a low-key celebration a month later with a few close friends, a couple of drinks, and some good food. A birthday is not about the date; it's about the company and the joy of being with people who matter to me. That is what really matters.
