A Night in the Clouds
There is a concert hall in The Netherlands, called Tivoli. Among its many magnificent rooms, there is one that stands out. Literally, as this one room rises above all others, high up in the sky. It's called Cloud Nine.
Last Thursday, I took its stairway to heaven.
The occasion: a release show of the first full album of Ben Forte, a fabulously talented songwriter. An artist I have followed for at least six years now, ever since I first saw him perform in a local hi-fi music store. Whether it was the high-quality audio equipment provided by the venue or just solely the magic of his voice and lyrics, I was hooked.
A few years later, I heard the guy play somewhere else in my country's capital city. I eyed his adventurous road that was filled with EPs and singles, every one of them special in its own way.
And everything feels like it led up to this very moment in the clouds, and the epic, transcendent night where things felt all right.
All adventures are special, but some are more special than others.
