Now

What I do now:

♾️ July Reply. The blogging community is great! This month, Robert Birming started July Reply, where the goal is to take someone's blog post and reply to it, just like you would reply to an email. I thought that would be fun, so I started my own July Reply post.

βœ‰οΈ Heptathlon. Sharing what you are experiencing in the form of a blog post. It is not new, but it is fun and reflective for yourself. That's why I recently started my own variant of this: Heptathlon. Seven notes about what keeps me busy in a week. One for every day. You can see it as a merger of 5-Bullet Friday and the point-by-point style in which Ernst-Jan Pfauth, among others, designs his newsletter. All my written "Heptathlons" can be found here.

πŸ’» Informaticabaas. As a computer science teacher in secondary education, I use the Moodle platform Informaticabaas. All modules that I teach to my classes during a school year are in this online environment. Next school year (24/25) we will switch to a new version of this platform, which means that all modules will have to be transferred. That is a great opportunity to mold the modules into a uniform and recognizable style, so I am working on that - together with a team of other computer science teachers.

πŸ“ Mid-term review. The Ad Software Development program from the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences has been in existence for three years and is therefore due for a mid-term review: an internal self-evaluation of the program in preparation for the six-yearly accreditation that every higher professional education program goes through. As project leader of this mid-term review, I ensure that this self-evaluation runs as smoothly as possible.

πŸƒ Trainer. I coach 11 to 15 year old athletes at my local athletics club to get the most out of this great sport. At the moment I am also busy preparing the annual camping weekend for youth and organizing a bock beer evening in October, when my athletics club celebrates its 40th anniversary.

πŸ§‘β€πŸ« Teacher. I strongly believe in transferring your own knowledge and enthusiasm to the next generation. That is why I am a software development teacher at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, a computer science teacher at PCC Het Lyceum and support young programmers at CoderDojo.
