Blaugust: August's Writing Odyssey

A new month, a new challenge? Since I actively started blogging again in June of this year, it sure feels like it. While June was all about Junited, July presented the July Reply challenge. As we've reached August, I realized that this month has been the home of Blaugust for quite some years now. The blogging community knows how to keep everyone active, that's for sure!

Blaugust is all about posting more regularly and sharing the joy of blogging with the community. Quoted from the original announcement:

Blaugust is a month-long event that takes place each August which focuses on blogging primarily [...]. The goal is to stoke the fires of creativity and allow bloggers and other content creators to mingle in a shared community while pushing each other to post more regularly. Above all the goal of Blaugust has always been to prove to folks that they can in fact sit down every day and create something fresh and then share it with the world.

While there are weekly themes you can use as a prompt to keep inspired and motivated to write, the core idea of this challenge is as listed above: enjoy writing and try to do it more regularly. The first "weekly" theme is "Welcome to Blaugust Week" and is all about spreading the news of this challenge and helping other people find it early. Who knows, maybe posts like this one help writers to tag along just in time.

The number of posts from my side heavily depends on my holiday plans, which are somewhat clear but largely still unknown. As such, the words you are reading now have been written in advance (July 21st). That brings me to an idea, though: why not blog about my holiday travels? I could write about what happened, post photos of magical moments, things like that. After all, Blaugust is whatever you make of it. Have a happy Blaugust month!
