Overnight Mastery Myth
Writing isn't something you get good at overnight. There’s no magical strategy that improves it in a heartbeat—or, even worse, 10x-es it after reading that one piece of advice that promises to solve everything.
At the same time, there’s no guide that helps you write better. Yes, with an emphasis on that one word. Looking back at every time I’ve learned something new, I’ve noticed that no written tutorial or video series is tailored exactly to how I learn best. There are always bits and pieces to take from whatever material you come across, but it's the combination of all of them that paves your unique journey. A journey that works, but only for yourself. Because it provided you with the exact materials you needed at exactly the right time, instead of at that random moment when a teacher thought you'd need it.
It's a journey that takes time. Always more than you originally thought. But always rewarding in the end—after all those struggles—when things finally fall into place. When the lightbulb first flashes, and then remains lit forever.
So, to hell with the promise of immediate success. Get to it.
