Yordi - A Lifelong Journey of Growth

The Game That Ruined It for Me

I just finished Red Dead Redemption 2, and now I have a problem.

You see, there are no other games with the same level of detail as this one. There is nothing the developers didn’t think about when creating this masterpiece. It’s in the simple things—like footprints that look different depending on the surface you’re walking on. Like NPCs living out their daily lives in ways that feel almost unscripted and incredibly real. It’s all so alive and kicking.

The problem? After finishing this, I feel like I can’t play any other game for a while. I'll notice every little missing detail right away, and it'll annoy me more than I can handle. Things like wondering why a character just stands there, waiting for me to approach before starting a mission. That seems crazy and completely un-life-like, right?

It’s horrible. I’ve been beaten by a game that’s over seven years old now. A game I didn't finish during my first playthrough a few years back, but one that got a hold on me the second time around—and I finished it in no more than two weeks.

Well, that’s it then. Nothing more to do than wait for the next Rockstar masterpiece, because I imagine only a project from them will meet my newfound quality threshold.

Great. I’ll just pick up a book or something in the meantime. Other tips to get me out of this black hole are welcome.
